Tripscout raises $10M to let you book a hotel on Instagram

The Chicago startup began as a travel inspiration app. Now it's taking on Priceline and Expedia with a service that lets you book hotels via Instagram.

For the past two years, Chicago startup Tripscout faced the unenviable task of growing a travel app during a pandemic. The company, which created a platform for trip-planning and inspiration, had to navigate an industry that was going through unprecedented turmoil as travel was effectively shut down in the early months of the Covid-19 pandemic.

But with travel now rebounding and many people ready to resume their trip-planning at pre-pandemic levels, Tripscout CEO Konrad Waliszewski believes his startup has officially come out the other side of the pandemic. And now Tripscout is evolving from a place where you plan a trip, to a place where you can book one.
